10 of the most audacious and frightening Mad Max cars
In the recently released Mad Max: Fury Road movie, cars play no less significant roles than Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy. In total, 150 cars were created for the filming, which smashed, burned and blew up. In our review of the 10-ka most impressive models, which drove through the post-apocalyptic desert, Max Rokatanski with his colleagues and their enemies.
1. The War Rig
Monster The War Rig was once a fura-tank truck. Now it is increasingly carried water, which has become no less valuable resource than gasoline. The car is decorated with skulls of defeated enemies, and in the arsenal there is an automatic spear, a ram and an observation tower for skirmishers.
2. Plymouth Rock
This car-porcupine was assembled by the efforts of some patient on the raider’s entire head. The machine is crowned with rusty metal spikes, which are freely used for any of three purposes: deterrence, ramming enemy machines and destroying enemies.
3. Peacemaker
This tracked vehicle was once clearly a passenger or sports car. The shape of the body can be assumed that it was based on some kind of car from the 70s of the 20th century. Be that as it may, the car is called the Peacemaker – “Peacemaker”, which is very symbolic for the Mad Max universe.
4. The Nux Car
Another crazy offspring of the same crazy raider mind – The Nux Car. However, the invention is not without tactical component. The fact is that the car does not open the door. This is very useful in the conditions of the battle on the road of rage.
5. Mack
The Mack attack aircraft was once a tow truck. Now he fulfills virtually the same goals, except that this “evacuation” is more often fatal for the “violator”. Spear-guns, harpoons and of course a hook-invader – all this is in the advanced attack aircraft.
6. The Interceptor
The legendary “Interceptor” Max. In the film, the fate of this steel horse was tragic. The car dies at the very beginning of the film during a road battle with raiders. So ended the story of maybe the last interceptor.
7. The Gigahorse
The name of this car is fully consistent with the way it looks. When creating this post-apocalyptic brainchild of the automotive industry, at least 5 different vehicles were used.
8. FDK
Car-interceptor is actively used by raiders for raids and chases. Most likely, works from the engine of a class V8. In front of it is the symbol of the horde — a burning steering wheel with a skull.
9. Buggy # 9
Apparently, this Corvette production of the 70s of XX century. Not bad preserved and not much “modernized” for the world in which there was an atomic war. Part of the roof is cut, and behind the car is attached a chair in which the machine gunner sits.
10. The Big Foot
This road monster was created from a farm truck, produced in the 40s-50s of the last century. Now, instead of corn, he carries a harpoon and a flamethrower on himself, and the wheels can crush cars smaller and lower.
